I don’t know how I seem to keep bumping into Google tests, but I have run into another one. I was searching for “Cross Stitch Patterns” when I noticed this. Ok so I was searching for cross stitch, but ONLY because I was reading Frank Schilling’s blog post SEM arbitrage and Keyword Domain Names It seems that Google is testing a new background color to their sponsored listings. Usually this is a light blue (RGB #e5ecf9).
I like the color and the change did get my attention to the ad, which brings to mind the thought that maybe Google is having problems showing worth in those top spots. Perhaps CTR is down overall and they are testing different color schemes to try to raise those CTR, thus making more money. In any case, they are up to something!
 So what are you thoughts? Have you seen these colors or others?
